Car Seat Safety

Using the correct car seat or booster seat can be a lifesaver: make sure your child is always buckled in a car seat, booster seat, or seat belt that is appropriate for their age and size.

Keep children properly buckled in the back seat until age 13.

*Recommended age ranges for each seat type vary to account for differences in child growth and weight/height limits of car seats and booster seats. Use the car seat or booster seat manual to check installation and the seat weight and height limits, and proper seat use.

Period of Purple Crying

The Period of PURPLE Crying is a developmental stage that begins at about two weeks of age and continues until around three to four months. During this phase, infants may cry more frequently and resist soothing, which can be extremely challenging for parents and caregivers. This program educates families about this normal yet intense period, providing strategies to cope with the stress and methods to comfort your baby effectively. This understanding helps to foster a safer environment for infants and reduces the risk of shaken baby syndrome.
